The dangerous vegetables patch was an enclosed area of the Hogwarts Castle grounds, located near an entrance to the Northern Courtyard. It was used to hold dangerous plants. A Chinese Chomping Cabbage and a bunch of leaping toadstools were kept in there during the 1992-1993 school year; some of the latter escaped out into the grounds surrounding the enclosure. It was kept locked, however, a key was hidden nearby in such a way that a small animal like a rat or cat could easily find it.
