History
Edit
Harry Potter and Ron Weasley roasted these with marshmallows over the Christmas holidays of the 1991–1992 school year. In the summer holiday before the 1993–1994 school year, when Cornelius Fudge intercepted Harry at the Leaky Cauldron after the young boy tried to run away for unintentionally inflating his Aunt Marge, the Minister for Magic had Tom the landlord bring a plate of crumpets and butter.
Crumpets are sometimes part of regular meals at Hogwarts. On the morning of 2 September, 1995, Fred Weasley buttered himself a crumpet while telling Hermione Granger that she would soon be begging him and George for a Skiving Snackbox, due to the difficulty of fifth year courses.[1]
