The creepers were magical vines in the Beedle the Bard story The Fountain of Fair Fortune. They apparently chose who was worthy of getting a chance to bathe in the Fountain, wrapping themselves around this person, then dragging him or her through the wall into the garden. In the story, the creepers selected Asha, but Asha grabbed hold of Altheda, who in turn took hold of Amata, whose clothing got caught on Sir Luckless's armour, resulting in all four ending up inside the garden.
