This counter-curse was used to prevent Broom jinxing.
In 1991–1992 school year Severus Snape used this counter-spell to prevent Quirinus Quirrell's broom-jinx. However Hermione Granger, Ronald Weasley and later Harry Potter thought that Snape was performing the jinx.
