Fudge attempted to persuade Dumbledore to convince Harry Potter to become Ministry's poster boy. |
- Cornelius Fudge: "It's very kind of you, Prime Minister, but there is nothing [you can do for me]. I was sent here tonight to bring you up to date on recent events and to introduce you to my successor. I rather thought he'd be here by now, but of course, he's very busy at the moment, with so much going on."
- Portrait at 10 Downing Street: "He'll be here in a moment, he's just finishing a letter to Dumbledore."
- Cornelius Fudge: "I wish him luck. I've been writing to Dumbledore twice a day for the past fortnight, but he won't budge. If he'd just been prepared to persuade the boy, I might still be… Well, maybe Scrimgeour will have more success."
- — Cornelius Fudge and the Portrait at 10 Downing Street.[src]
Cornelius Fudge sent around twenty-eight letters to Albus Dumbledore in 1996 between the Battle of the Department of Mysteries and his resignation as Minister for Magic, in a vain attempt to persuade him to convince Harry Potter to become the Ministry's poster boy in order for him to keep his office. He failed in his attempts, and was subsequently removed from office.[1]
