Molly Weasley made her children corned beef sandwiches for the journey to Hogwarts on the Hogwarts Express. Ron Weasley was not particularly fond of these sandwiches, but his mother never seemed to remember that point, until in his third year at Hogwarts. When she was handing out the sandwiches, Ron pulled a face and she told him that no, they weren't corned beef.

In the film adaptation of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Ron Weasley was seen holding a sandwich his mother gave him. It is very possible that this was a corned beef sandwich.
