Cogg and Bell Clockmakers was a wizarding clockmaker's that made and repaired clocks. It was located on the corner of Carkitt Market and Horizont Alley, between the Museum of Muggle Curiosities and Weeoanwhisker's Barber Shop.[1]

Etymology[]

  • A cog is, properly speaking, the portions of a gear that interlock with other gears, though gears themselves are sometimes called cogs. In either case, gears/cogs are commonly used in old-fashioned analogue clocks.
  • A bell is a simple musical instrument that makes a single tone when struck. Some types of clock use a bell to sound off the start of the hour.
