Cobbing was a common Quidditch foul that consisted of a player using his elbows excessively to hurt an opponent. All players could commit this foul. In the final of the 1994 Quidditch World Cup, Ireland was awarded a penalty because the Bulgarian Keeper, Zograf had cobbed Mullet, an Irish Chaser.

- In the film adaption of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Draco Malfoy used this foul against Harry Potter when they both were about to catch the Golden Snitch during the Quidditch match between Gryffindor team and Slytherin team in the 1992–1993 school year.
