A cloak is a piece of clothing, usually black, worn by wizards and witches alike all over the Wizarding world.
Known cloaks
While most wizards and witches wore a standard black cloak, there exist other types of cloaks:
- The Hogwarts winter cloak: As part of the school uniform, students were required, in cold weather, to wear a winter cloak with silver fastenings.
- The Cloak of Invisibility: Only one true cloak of Invisibility is in existence, that which was passed down through the generations from Ignotus Peverell, eventually to reach Harry Potter. This cloak renders the wearer invisible.
