"A chum of mine was sledging down Claxby Hill. We had a very long, homemade, Norwegian-style sledge..."
Horace Slughorn at The Three Broomsticks[src]

Claxby Hill is a hill near Lincoln, in Lincolnshire. Once, Horace Slughorn and a friend of his sledged down this hill.[1] Claxby itself is the name of a village in Lincolnshire.

Behind the scenes

  • Claxby Hill is a prominent local landmark near Jim Broadbent's place of birth, in Lincolnshire. Given this, it is possible that the line in the film mentioning Claxby Hill was ad-libbed by Broadbent.
