Ciarán Hinds (born 9 February, 1953) is a Northern Irish actor who portrays Aberforth Dumbledore in the film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.[1]
Probably his best-known role in recent years is as Gaius Julius Caesar in HBO's historical miniseries Rome (one of Caesar's assassins, Cassius, was played by Guy Henry).
His other roles include appearances in the Oscar-nominated film In Bruges (which also starred Brendan Gleeson, Ralph Fiennes, and Clémence Poésy) and the upcoming spy thriller Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, starring Gary Oldman and Toby Jones.[2]
He also voiced "Botticelli," the lead antagonist of the 2009 animated film The Tale of Despereaux, with Emma Watson and Robbie Coltrane.
