Cho Chang (born c. 1979) is a student at Hogwarts, sorted into Ravenclaw House. She is a Seeker for the Ravenclaw Quidditch team.

Her first appearance is in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, where she and Harry first meet during a Quidditch match, in which her beauty stops Harry from knocking her off her broom. Although he outsmarts her and wins the match, Cho shows no hatred towards him and actually wishes him luck in the finals causing him to blush.

Cho returns in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, where she is at the Quidditch World Cup, and smiles at Harry where he waves to her. When the announcent of the Yule Ball, Harry asks her to go with him, but she had already been asked by Cedric Diggory and she said "Yes" to him.

Cho and Cedric become a couple until he is murdered by Wormtail on Voldemort's orders.

The next year, Cho goes to Harry to talk but their first few encounters go bad as Harry is covered in slime in their first encunter and Ron and Cho have a argument with each other on their second.

When Harry is up at the Olwery, Cho defends him which makes them closer. When Harry organises Dumbledore's Army, she joins in and actually is successful on some spells. During Christmas, Cho & Harry have their first kiss where they start to date.

Harry & Cho's relationship doesn't get far as Harry tells her that he is going to meet Hermione Granger, which she misinterpreted, thinking Harry was going out with her as well. When her best friend Marietta Edgecombe, who betrayed the D.A. to Dolores Umbridge is cursed with joining the D.A. Cho tries to defend her and starts to cry. Harry then tells her to go away if she's going to cry and she runs off crying. Reportedly, it is said that Cho will betray the DA in the upcoming Potter film.

Harry and Cho don't talk to each other and only see a glimpse of each other on the Hogwarts Express and Harry talks to Ron about her telling him that they never really understood each other.

It is unknown if Cho will appear in the final book, but if she does it would properly be to help Harry defeat Voldermort in the memory of Cedric.
