Wandlore
Chestnut is a most curious wood that little character or traits of its own other than its attraction to witches and wizards who are skilled tamers of magical beasts, those who possess great gifts in Herbology, and those who are natural fliers. Instead, the wand of chestnut tends to take on character of the wand core and the owner.[2]
