A Cheering Charm is a spell which makes another person happy. When the spell is overdone, it can cause the victim to be overcome with fits of hysterical laughter. It was invented by Felix Summerbee during the 1400s.
History
Professor Flitwick taught Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and the rest of the class the charm in Harry's third year. Hermione Granger missed it due to distractions by Draco's bullying. In 1993, the third year students, including Harry, Ron and Hermione were tested on the Cheering Charm during their exams.
