This implies that all Blacks except Sirius were Sorted into Slytherin while Slughorn was Head of House. Dorea, born in 1920, presumably attended Hogwarts c. 1931 or 1932 to 1938 or 1939, and thus would most likely have been a student of Slughorn, who was stated to have begun teaching at Hogwarts around the same time as Albus Dumbledore in Chapter 5 of Half-Blood Prince, in 1938 or earlier.</ref>. However, James also had a disdainful attitude toward Slytherin house. It is equally possible that Charlus Potter's (and Dorea Potter's) son is simply a relative of James Potter. |

"Are you a wizard, or what?"
The title of this article is conjectural. Although it is based on canonical information, the actual name is a conjecture and may be supplanted at any time by additional information released from canonical sources. If this occurs, please move this page to the appropriate title. |
Charlus Potter's son is the son and only child of Charlus Potter and Dorea Potter[1]. He was a pure-blood wizard, and a first cousin of Walburga, Alphard and Cygnus Black[2].
Behind the scenes
- It was once speculated that James Potter was in fact Charlus Potter's son. However, the actual names of James's parents, Fleamont and Euphemia Potter, were revealed via Pottermore.[3] In spite of this, it is still more than likely that Charlus might be a cousin of James Potter and his descendants.
- Ironically, although it was not James, this man was related to many of those close to Harry Potter, for instance, being a first cousin once removed of Sirius and Regulus Black and Bellatrix, Andromeda and Narcissa Black, and so a cousin of Nymphadora and Ted Lupin and Draco and Scorpius Malfoy respectively, a second cousin of Arthur Weasley, possibly a second cousin of Bartemius Crouch Sr.[4] and his son, and a possible distant relative of Neville Longbottom[5].
- If Harry really didn't have any living relatives other than the Dursleys by 1981, we can assume that Charlus, Dorea and their son were all dead by that date. If so, it remains a mystery what happened to this man, who, given the date of birth of his mother, was still relatively young in 1981.
