The central tower is one of the many towers of Hogwarts Castle. It sits atop the Long Gallery and overlooks the Viaduct Entrance. It is also near the Herbology greenhouses.
Behind the scenes
- In the first two films, the tower was quite short and had small "balcony-like areas" below the turrets at the top. From the Prisoner of Azkaban film onwards, it changed to being taller, thinner, having taller spires and no "balcony-like area".
- This tower may be the Ravenclaw Tower, since it is one of the three main towers in the castle (the others being Grand Staircase Tower and Astronomy Tower).
- This tower may also house the Hogwarts Library. This would make sense as Ravenclaw prizes intelligence.
- There is a courtyard by this tower. The First Floor Corridor passes around it.
