Caxambu was a city located in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais.
History[]
Caxambu Style Borborygmus Potion, a potion that provoked stomach rumbling, was presumably first developed in Caxambu.[1]
In the 6 December 1926 Sunset Final Edition of The New York Ghost, it was reported that an international manhunt for Gellert Grindelwald was underway in several cities, including Caxambu.[2]
The Sunrise Early Edition of The New York Ghost published on 30 May 1927 had an article located on page 2, column 3 about water in Caxambu confirmed to be magical and powerful.[3] The same year, an issue of Le Cri de la Gargouille reported that Caxambu witches appeared in Versailles.[4]
The Daily Prophet reported in late 1994 that this city was slated to be the site of a meeting of the G8 3/4.[5]
It was reported in a 1996 issue of The Quibbler that the infamous "Ginger Witch" was arrested in this city for possessing fake henna.[6]
The Daily Prophet also once reported in its international weather section that it would be sunny and 5° in Caxambu.[7]
Behind the scenes[]
- Eduardo Lima, a graphic artist who worked on every Harry Potter film from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban onward, is a originally from Caxambu, and presumably slipped multiple references to the city into his graphic work for the films for this reason.[8][9]
