- I think this category should serve as an all-inclusive list of everyone known to have attended Hogwarts. If students are listed only in the House sub-categories, then readers will be unable to browse through a complete list of students, which is why I think that cross-listing a character in both Category:Hogwarts students and a House sub-category is preferable to listing only in a House sub-cat. ★ Starstuff (Owl me!) 02:33, December 14, 2009 (UTC)
Canon vs. not Canon[]
Is there any way that another subcatagory could be added? I, as well as some others, believe that canon can only come from J. K. Rowling, meaning from the books or from interviews, etc. Most of the names on this list seem to be from only the movies and video games. Is there any way that a subcategory can be made that only includes what I consider to be canon? I would really like to not have to sift through to find students from my interpretation of canon. - According to our definition of canon, as set forth in our Canon Policy, if information is presented in the films that does not directly affect or contradict the book Canon, then that information can and should be treated as Canon itself. -- Seth Cooper owl post! 00:43, August 13, 2011 (UTC)
