Tsunami

Has it actually been referred to as a Tsunami in any canonical source, such as the test-screening or an interview, or is this just what some of the fans have been calling it? If there's no canonical source, it's not article-worthy. - Nick O'Demus 07:54, May 4, 2011 (UTC)

No idea since I haven't seen the actual source, to be honest. I was hoping someone more knowledgeable could shed some light on it so I slapped the Verify tag on it. - Cavalier OneGryffindorcrest(Wizarding Wireless Network) 08:12, May 4, 2011 (UTC)
No matter what it is. It is still a big water wave. This should not mean that a Verify is needed. If this is not the right name it should be renamed, not Verified. Please understand this. Plus, I have been putting four sources into the article, and this Wiki refers to it as an Tsunami. --Danniesen May 4 2011 19.13 (Denmark)

This means that it's article-worthy, as four google searches and this Wiki mentions a Tsunami. IT'S NOT HARD TO UNDERSTAND. --Danniesen May 5 2011 07.12 (Denmark)

Forums, blogs, and discussion boards are NOT canon sources. 70.249.153.116 05:35, May 5, 2011 (UTC)

From what I've heard the "Tsunami" occurs when Voldemort launches his offensive spell at Hogwarts, in order to take down the defensive shield. If you remeber Chamber of Secrets there was a large pool of water, which the Basilisk burts out of. Apparently Voldemort's spell causes a small Tsunami inside the Chamber because of the presence of this water. Seeing as we've already agreed to omit mention of Lavender Brown's death until the film itself is released shouldn't the same logic apply here? Even if true it's hardly article worthy. We may as well write articles on water, rocks and grass. Jayden Matthews 10:00, May 5, 2011 (UTC)
Regarding the references that have been added, as was already mentioned a couple of comments up, "forums, blogs, and discussion boards are not canon sources". These are discussions among fans, and do not reflect official statements by those directly involved in the film-making process. The IMDb synopsis is likewise fan-made (there's even a notice at the top of the page that says "The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff"). Fanon is fanon, no matter how widespread its usage may be. And as far as our usage of the term in the film's synopsis, that's still a far cry from having a separate article about it, and even then, other articles on this wiki cannot, in and of themselves, be sources for other articles (there's even a statement to this effect in the {{Verify}} tag).
Now, if during the film, either Ron or Hermione says "Look out, a tsumani!", OR if there's an official cite-able interview where either Rupert or Emma says something like "We have to escape from a tsunami during the Chamber scene.", OR if even the soundtrack for the scene is titled "Tsunami in the Chamber" (i.e. Firestorm), then THAT might be an arguable case for having an independent article for this. - Nick O'Demus 10:23, May 5, 2011 (UTC)
I would argue against the article even if it is confirmed. It's just not notable. The spell used by Voldemort is another matter, and we could include information about the tsunami in it. This is just a big load of water. Jayden Matthews 10:38, May 5, 2011 (UTC)

Who says that Hermione and Ron are in the Chamber of Secrets when Voldemort uses his Defensive Spell-Breaking Curse. And Nicky, what about checking that you said before?? --Danniesen

I read it on Mugglenet. Some of their editors were at the advance screening. It doesn't really matter. The fact of the matter is this article is useless. Jayden Matthews 13:35, May 6, 2011 (UTC)
Dannisen, stop removing the cfd tag. If you want to keep the article then discuss it, and give a reason why it should be kept. Also if your'e going to edit this wiki, please sign in, instead of using an IP. Thanks. Jayden Matthews 13:53, May 6, 2011 (UTC)

I've locked the page to stop all this back and forth over the tags. Cavalier One first put the {{Verify}} tag on it 2 days ago, so that leaves 5 more days to locate and provide a verifiable canonical source. - Nick O'Demus 14:30, May 6, 2011 (UTC)

I've recreated the Tsunami page, and this time i have put a picture into the article. But i can't see whether it's from the film or game! --Danniesen June 1. 2011 07:47 (Denmark)

Who's deleting the page all the time. We have a source.
