Carrots are a long orange vegetable that are a good source of carotene. They were present at the Welcoming Feast in 1991.

They are sometimes served during regular meals at Hogwarts, as Hermione Granger scattered bits of meat and carrot during lunch on 2 September, 1993 after Ronald Weasley suggested that the reason for her disgust with Divination was just that she didn't like "being bad at something for a change."[1]
