The Canary Islands are an archipelago located off the northwestern coast of Africa that are a self-governing territory of Spain.^[1] Horace Slughorn stayed in a house in Budleigh Babberton in the summer of 1996 while its Muggle owners were on holiday in the Canary Islands. ^[2]

The weather of Tenerife, part of the Canary Islands, was considered notable by the International section of the Daily Prophet, suggesting that there are other wizards living there.
