Caithness is a registration county, lieutenancy area and historic local government area of Scotland.
The McGonagalls lived here in the twentieth century, after Robert McGonagall and his wife Isobel Ross eloped into a manse on the outskirts of Caithness. Caithness was, thus, the birthplace of their children: Minerva, Malcolm and Robert Jr.[1]
