Butterscotch is a type of confectionery that may also be used in some potions. It was kept with other potion ingredients in the Potions Classroom at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Butterbeer was mentioned to taste similar to, but less "sickly than", Butterscoth.
