Burma is a country in South East Asia. Its capital is Naypyidaw. Today, Burma is officially called Myanmar. It is located between Thailand, China, India and Bangladesh. In 1991, while celebrating Dudley Dursley's birthday, the Dursleys and Harry Potter went to London Zoo. While at the Zoo, Harry asked a Python snake if it was from Burma. However the snake turned the suggest down, showing that it was bred in captivity.
Behind the scenes
Edit
- In the film adaption of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone Harry suggests the snake to be from Burma instead of itself saying it was heading to Brazil. Furthermore it may be where the snake is going to in the film despite never mentioned by the snake. Also the film snake is a Python, which contradicts the book snake which is a Boa constrictor.
- Despite being bred in captivity it may have some family in Burma.
