|Quidditch Fouls information|
Bumphing is a common Quidditch foul that consists of a Beater sending a Bludger towards the crowd. This immediately halts the game, while officials rush to protect fans who are watching the match. Unscrupulous Beaters often do this in order to prevent the opposing team from scoring.
Behind the scenesEdit
In Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince during a Quidditch match in the 1996–1997 school year, Ginny Weasley may have used a variation of Bumphing as she was a Chaser and shot a Bludger at the commentator box, heading towards Zacharias Smith, who had commented badly about the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
