Blood-Sucking Bugbear |
The bugbear (also known as Blood-Sucking Bugbear) is a magical creature, the form of which is as yet unknown to Muggles. It has been speculated to be some sort of bear native to Scotland. In 1992, following a mass rooster killing, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry gamekeeper Rubeus Hagrid surmised that they may be the culprits, which suggests there may be bugbears in the forest surrounding the school.[HP2]
[edit] Behind the scene
- In Muggle Legend, the bugbear was a creature that ate naughty children; now, the term is more often used to describe an imaginary fear than a real one.
