- "Bee in your bonnet, Harry Potter?"
- — The Sorting Hat makes a pun of this term in 1992.[src]
A bonnet is a type of headgear for both sexes, which is often made of soft material and has the absence of a brim; females are more commonly seen wearing this headgear than males. In 1992, after Harry Potter tries on the Sorting Hat for a second time to ensure its choice to sort him into Gryffindor was right, it asked him upon introduction whether there was a bee in its bonnet.
