The Boil-Cure Potion (also known simply as Cure for Boils[2]) is a potion which cures boils[1], It is an elementary potion taught to first year students at Hogwarts.

When brewing the potion, the cauldron must be taken off the fire before adding the porcupine quills, or, as Neville Longbottom found out, the cauldron will melt and create a horrid odor, and if it spills will cause the skin to erupt in vicious boils.[1] The basic potion is red-coloured when finished, but heating a bit more until it goes pink produces a more effective brew.[2]
