- "What the Devil are you doing down here?"
- — Bogrod when seeing Harry, Ron and Hermione in Gringotts' deeps.[src]
Bogrod was a goblin and employee of Gringotts Wizarding Bank and of the 1998 Head Goblin.
Biography
In 1998, he led Hermione Granger, disguised as Bellatrix Lestrange, and Ron Weasley, disguised as "Dragomir Despard", to the vault of the Lestrange family. He had been placed under the Imperius Curse by Harry Potter, who followed the group under his Invisibility Cloak with Griphook. Bogrod escorted them on a cart through the Thief's Downfall, and then past the dragon guarding the vault.
When the treasure inside began to multiply as a result of the Geminio and Flagrante curses being placed on it as a security measure, Hermione and Ron had to struggle to keep Bogrod from falling under the tide.
It is unknown what happened to Bogrod after the trio escaped the bank, but he may have either been injured by the cursed treasure inside the vault or one of the goblins Lord Voldemort killed in his fury after finding out that one of his Horcruxes had been stolen.
Behind the scenes
- Bogrod was portrayed by Jon Key in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.[1]
- Unlike the book, early on in the film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Bogrod fails to escape with Griphook and is scorched to death by the dragon.
- In the film he acompanied another Gringotts Head Goblin to the desk. In the video game he alone is sitting at the desk.
