The Blue Mountains are a mountainous region of Australia, located in New South Wales just outside the Sydney metropolitan area. In 1997, Radio Times hosted a photo special showcasing images of this region that were, in the editor's opinion, "out of this world". This special was presumably to accompany an article in the same issue about Laurence Wakefield's documentary The Australia Series.[1]

Behind the scenes

  • There are several mountain ranges worldwide known as the Blue Mountains. The one in Australia is the most likely one being referred to on the film prop, however, given the other reference to Australia in the same issue.
