Changes: Blackpool pier

Blackpool pier was a pier in Blackpool, Lancashire, on the northwestern coast of England on the Irish Sea. When Neville Longbottom was a young child, his great-uncle, Algie, shoved him off the end of this pier in an attempt to make him show evidence of having magical abilities, which nearly caused him to drown.

Behind the scenes

There are in fact three piers in Blackpool: North Pier, Central Pier, and South Pier. The novel does not specify which of them Neville was pushed off.
