A biting doorknob was a door handle which had been jinxed to snap at the fingers of anyone who tried to turn it.[2]
History[]
Zonko's Joke Shop in Hogsmeade sold Biting Doorknobs by the 1988–1989 school year.[1]
Willy Widdershins was caught selling these items to Muggles in late 1995. Two of his victims lost fingers and had to be sent to St Mungo's to have their bones regrown and their memories modified.[2]
