Aviatomobile was a burgundy toy Ford Anglia, which was presumably bewitched to fly. They were sold at Fred and George Weasley's shop in Diagon Alley, Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.[1]
Inspiration
Fred and George may have been inspired to make this miniature flying car, because their dad, Arthur Weasley, bewitched a Muggle Ford Angelia in 1992. Ron, Fred, and George also flew it to Harry's house on Privet Drive and rescued him from the Dursley's, pulling off the bars on his window, and bringing him back to The Burrow outside of Ottery St. Catchpole.
Also, on September 1, 1992, Molly Weasley and Arthur drove their sons and daughter to King's Cross, but Harry and Ron couldn't make it to the barrier, as Dobby had sealed it, to stop Harry from going back to Hogwarts. They then decided to fly to Hogwarts.
But when the two made it to Hogwarts, they had crashed directly into the Whomping Willow. Ron's wand was destroyed, and Hedwig's cage cracked. Defunctioning, the car bucked Harry and Ron out, and rode into the woods with no driver. Unfortunately, they missed the Sorting Ceremony, and recieved detention from McGonagall. However, most people were very impressed with Harry and Ron. The whole of Gryffindor threw a party, as soon as they walked into the Gryffindor Common Room.
Name
The "avia" in the name, may come from "aviation" meaning having to do with planes, and flying and things of that nature. "Mobile" may mean that it has been enchanted to drive around in the air, or because it is a vehicle.
