- Hermione Granger: "I don't think it looks like a Grim."
- Sybill Trelawney: "You'll forgive me for saying so, my dear, but I perceive very little aura around you. Very little receptivity to the resonances of the future."
- — Hermione Granger and Sybill Trelawney[src]
An aura was a subtle field of magical energy surrounding a person, object, or place.[1][2]
In the 6 December 1926 issue of The New York Ghost, C. Williamsum reported that there was a "sinister" aura around New York, and that master aurologists had been called in from Seoul, Korea to investigate it.[2]
During a Divination class in 1993, Sybill Trelawney told Hermione Granger that she perceived very little aura around her, indicating that she had "very little receptivity to the resonances of the future".[1]
