Asphodel (also known as Royal Staff[2]) is a member of the lily family, and is often used in potion-making. It is found worldwide, but it was first discovered in Greece.
Usage in potion-making
Powdered root of Asphodel is used in the creation of various potions, such as the Draught of Living Death[3], and the Wiggenweld Potion. [4]

- Asphodel is a real plant that was believed to have magical properties. The ancient Greeks associated it with the death and the underworld, and considered it sacred to Persephone, goddess of the spring and queen of the underworld.
