Arnold "Arnie" Peasegood was a wizard who worked at the Ministry of Magic. By 1994, he worked in the capacity of Obliviator for the Accidental Magic Reversal Squad[1] and also as a Hit Wizard.[2]

Biography[]

1994 Quidditch World Cup[]

Peasegood was one of the Ministry officials stationed at Mr Roberts' campsite during the final of the four-hundred and twenty-second Quidditch World Cup, in 1994.[1]

Chipping Clodbury riot[]

Peasegood was present during the infamous Chipping Clodbury riot. During the riot, he managed to arrest three Goblins and suffered a minor attack of boils.[2]

The Calamity[]

During the Calamity in the late 2010s or early 2020s, Peasegood met with a Calamity Investigator working for the Statute of Secrecy Task Force and explained to them that there had been an uptick in crimes against Ministry employees since the beginning of the Calamity and suggested methods that they, as a Ministry employee, could use to protect themselves from these sorts of crimes in the future.[3]

Etymology[]

The name "Arnold" comes from a Germanic name meaning "eagle power", derived from the elements arn "eagle" and wald "power". It was brought by the Normans to England, where it replaced the Old English cognate Earnweald. It died out as an English name after the Middle Ages, but it was revived in the 19th century.
