"...he swallowed too fast, turned purple and began to choke. "Anapneo," said Slughorn calmly, pointing his wand at Belby, whose airway seemed to clear at once."
—Horace Slughorn's use of the spell on a choking Marcus Belby[src]

Anapneo is a healing spell that clears the target person's throat if it is blocked; an example would be if one was choking.

On 1 September 1996, Horace Slughorn used this spell on Marcus Belby after he began to choke on a bite of pheasant when he tried to answer a question too fast.[1]

The Greek word anapneo (αναπνέω) which means "I breathe".
