This letter was written by Albus Dumbledore to Harry Potter on 2 September 1996. The letter was delivered by Jack Sloper and contained the date for the first of Dumbledore's private lessons with Harry. It contained, as Harry deduced, the password for the gargoyle outside his study (Acid Pops).[2]

Dear Harry,

I would like to start our private lessons this Saturday.

Kindly come along to my office at 8 p.m. I hope you are enjoying your first day back at school.

Yours sincerely,
Albus Dumbledore

P.S. I enjoy Acid Pops
