Agnes Monkleigh was a Slytherin student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the 1990s. During the 1996–1997 school year, she blocked one of the exits in the Herbology Store, forcing Harry Potter to beat her in a duel in order to get past.

EtymologyEdit

The name "Agnes" is the Latinized form of the Greek name ‘Αγνη (Hagne), derived from Greek ‘αγνος (hagnos) meaning "chaste".
