Sir Winogrand (presumably) |
- "30 years ago when she met Sir Winogrand's collection in the African Lakes, [Selina Sapworthy] was absolutely surprised with the diversity and the magical potential that those water plants had."
- —Excerpt from Winogrand's Wonderous Water Plants.[src]
The African Lakes are, presumably, a group of lakes located somewhere on the continent of Africa. The Lakes are apparently a unique biome for plant diversity, as a large number of magical plants owned by Sir Winogrand grow in this region. A study of the plants of this region was the basis of Selina Sapworthy's book Winogrand's Wonderous Water Plants.[1]
Behind the scenes
Edit
- The "African Lakes" may be a reference to the Rift Valley lakes, a group of lakes spanning the eastern edge of Africa known for their biodiversity.
