Africa is a continent south of Europe.

During the summer holidays of 1994, Hermione Granger mentioned Africa as a possible hiding place for Sirius Black, noting "Hedwig's not going to manage that journey in a few days," when Harry Potter was eager for a response to a letter he sent to him.[1]
