Accio (A-see-oh or Ah-kee-oh) is the 'Summoning Charm', which causes an object at a distance from the caster to fly into his arms. The caster must know the general area of the object in order to summon it, and the farther away it is the harder it is to summon.

- Molly Weasley used several Summoning charms to find many different magical sweets Fred and George Weasley were trying to sneak out of the house to the Quidditch World Cup.
- Harry Potter learned the summoning charm for the first task of the Triwizard Tournament so he could summon his broom to him to out maneuver the Dragon.
- Barty Crouch Jr. disguised as Alastor Moody used the summoning charm to take the Marauders Map away from Severus Snape before he could read it.
- Harry Potter used this charm to summon the Triwizard Cup (a Portkey) to him to escape Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters.
- The summoning Charm was used countless times in The battle of the Department of Mysteries by the Death Eaters who tried to grab the Prophecy from Harry Potter, Hermione Granger to pick up wands, and by Ron Weasley who used it to summon a brain in a tank to him.
- Harry Potter tried to cast this Non-verbally to get his wand after the Full-Body-Bind spell was used against him by Draco Malfoy, to no avail.
- Harry Potter tried to use it to summon one of Voldemort's Horcruxes at a sea cave.
- Harry Potter summoned Madame Rosmerta's brooms to him and Albus Dumbledore to get back to Hogwarts for the The Battle at Hogwarts.
