Able Spudmore was a wizard or witch who worked along with Ellerby and created the Black Forest Broomstick Company Ellerby and Spudmore. They first created the Tinderblast and then the Swiftstick.
Able was born in or before 1923, since the company released its first broom in 1940, and he was likely of age by that point.
