- 31 July: Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (Special Rehearsal Edition) was released in bookstores in script form, breaking sales records.
- 8 September: Hazel Douglas, who played Bathilda Bagshot in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, died aged 92
- 21 September: Terence Bayler, who played The Bloody Baron in Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone, died aged 86
