- 2006: Burkina Faso defeats France in the final of the 425th Quidditch World Cup. The Burkinabé Seeker, Joshua Sankara, is promptly named Minister for Magic of his country, although he resigns just two days after taking office, as he would much rather play Quidditch.[1]
- In June of this year, the Daily Prophet announces the marriage of Grim Fawley and Penelope Padgett.
Behind the scenes[]
- 26 June: The Queen's Handbag, a specially filmed mini-adventure featuring the cast of the Harry Potter films, is shown as part of Children's Party at the Palace, a celebration of the 80th birthday of Queen Elizabeth II.
- 21 August: Klaus Höhne, the German voice of Albus Dumbledore in the first four films, dies from an illness at the age of 79.
