- June, 1999 - Ginny Weasley and Luna Lovegood probably leave Hogwarts at this time. Hermione Granger also would have graduated from Hogwarts during this time because her seventh and final year was delayed by the quest for the Horcruxes and the situation at Hogwarts during the 1997-1998 school term. Hermione also took her N.E.W.T.s at this time.
- Late '90s or early '00s - Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley are married.
- Late '90s or early '00s - Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger are married.
- Late '90s or early '00s - Draco Malfoy is married to Astoria Greengrass.
- Late '90s or early '00s - Luna Lovegood marries a fellow naturalist named Rolf Scamander, grandson of Newt Scamander
- Late '90s or early '00s - Neville Longbottom marries classmate and fellow D.A. member Hannah Abbott.
- Late '90s or early '00s - Cho Chang marries a Muggle man.
- Late '90s-'10s - Ron Weasley leaves Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes to work as an Auror
- Late '90s-'10s - Hermione Granger transfers from the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement
- Late '90s-'10s - Ginny Weasley retires from playing Quidditch for the Holyhead Harpies to work for the Daily Prophet
- 2007 - Harry Potter becomes head of the Auror Department.
- September 1, 2009 - Teddy Lupin starts his education at Hogwarts.

- September 11, 2001: Four planes involved in separate crashes at the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Washington and in Pennsylvania. Soon after, the "War on Terror" begins.
- February, 2003: Crew of American space shuttle Columbia killed and shuttle destroyed during re-entry for planned landing in Florida.
- March, 2003: Second Gulf War begins.
- Harry Potter books published from 2000-2008; films made from 2001-2010 and released to great acclaim by Warner Brothers.
- July 7, 2006: London bus bombings kill 52 and injure over 700 during morning rush hour.
- Irish Band U2 release single, 'Beautiful Day'
