- 1066: The Battle of Hastings takes place. Armand Malfoy, a wizard, arrived in Britain as part of William the Conqueror's invading army. Malfoy is given a prime piece of land in Wiltshire when William the Conqueror is made King, and there he establishes Malfoy Manor, where his descendants have lived for ten consecutive centuries.[1]
